After completing her studies in 2002, Lelani joined Steiner cruises for a contract on Ionothermy in the Caribbean. After an exciting journey on the ships, she decided to return to South Africa, and worked full time as a therapist at a beauty salon in Linksfield. She often assisted the pharmacists and took on front shop duties when the salon was quiet. Her interest beyond beauty led to Essie approaching her to join them as sales rep.
After gaining valuable experience at Essie, she decided to broaden her skill set and joined L’Oreal Professional Cosmetics as a hair care Rep calling on professional hair dressing salons for Redken, Matrix and Purology. She has since been promoted to Area Manager for the Luxury Division of L’Oreal, servicing all large retailers and pharmacies for Lancôme YSL and DF fragrances.
In October 2012, she accepted an offer to work for SA’s largest retailer, Edcon. During her time there, she worked on various projects for this dynamic team, as well as assisted with setting up new stores. This led her to join a beauty franchise as Quality Assurance Manager ensuring that standards were maintained by completing quality checks in various salons.
Her passion for people led her to training and recruitment. Her main objective at LIBC was to provide the industry with retail ready staff. She provided training in retail operations, customer service, selling skills, basic skin care, make overs and fragrances.
She is currently working at Health Renewal Brooklyn where she can apply her valuable skill set on excellent client service.
