Nurse Wilna was born in Kakamas in the Northern Cape where she went to school and completed her secondary education. After school, she started her nursing career at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town where she completed her Nursing diploma in general nursing in 1983. She then studied Midwifery which was completed in the beginning of 1984.
Between 1984-1991 Nurse, Wilna worked in Tygerberg Hospital’s Trauma unit. During this time (1986-1987) she completed an additional Certificate in Trauma nursing. After the birth of their first child, in 1991, she worked in family planning; as a registered nurse for four years.
In 1996 Nurse Wilna's family moved to Zambia, where they stayed until 1999. Upon returning to South Africa, Nurse Wilna and her family settled in Somerset West. In 2000 she started working at Stellenbosch Medi-Clinic’s Trauma unit for the next 13 years, until January 2014.
She officially joined the Renewal Institute family in February 2014 to further her experience and help people feel the best they can.
