How to prevent Diabetes

Find a Branch Near You

Modern life style patterns have negative effects on health - physically, psychologically, and socially. It can specifically have effects on dietary triggers (fructose, wheat and industrial seed oils), stress, poor sleep, gut dysbiosis and environmental toxins all cause inflammation on their own. When combined together, they are an explosive mix. Take these precautions to avoid getting Diabetes.

1. Lose weight

Obesity contributes to inflammation by up-regulating certain genes involved with the inflammatory response. These genes control the expression of white blood cells called macrophages that play a key role in inflammation. As the concentration of macrophages in the fat tissue increases, the release of inflammatory by-products such as TNF-α, IL-6 and MCP-1 also increases. This means that the more fat tissue you have, the more inflammation it will produce. The key to preventing and treating diabesity is losing weight which can reduce inflammation.

Solution: Renewal Institute Diet (RID)

2. Diet

Choose healthy foods (especially during winter months) instead of starchy and sweet foods. Excess fructose intake is one of the primary contributing factors to an increase in obesity, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), metabolic syndrome and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). High-carb diets and food toxicities from grains, vegetable oils, and fructose can cause Lipotoxicity which is the result of metabolic derangements.

To reduce inflammation and pain: remove dietary toxins (wheat, fructose & seed oils) from your diet; fix your gut by addressing chronic infections, intestinal permeability and dysbiosis; balance blood sugar levels; and address essential fatty acid (EFA) imbalances.

3. Manage stress

Manage stress and restore proper adrenal function. The importance of early management of any condition cannot be overstated. Once certain conditions set in and damage to organs occurs, complete recovery may be difficult to attain. Best results for prevention and longevity is early detection of a possible problem combined with conventional treatments, nutritional supplements and a healthy diet and lifestyle.

3. Exercise

High-intensity strength training is far more effective for improving insulin sensitivity than steady state cardio, because it more fully depletes glycogen stores in the liver and muscle.

4. Supplements

Metformin is one of the supplements that are beneficial for insulin regulation.
